2024 KEYNOTE SPEAKER
Dr. Tracy Dennis-Tiwary
Tracy Dennis-Tiwary is the bestselling author of Future Tense: Why Anxiety is Good For You (Even Though it Feels Bad), which offers a revolutionary new way of understanding, managing, and leveraging anxiety. Tracy argues that we can’t ever eradicate anxiety completely, and more importantly, that we shouldn’t try to. Anxiety evolved to help us imagine, plan, and prepare for tomorrow—it makes us more future-oriented and persistent so we can chase our goals. If we can learn to experience the healthy aspects of anxiety, and work through the difficult parts, we’ll be better equipped to face our uncertain future with hope, tenacity, and courage.
In Future Tense, Tracy makes the case for anxiety: why we need this difficult emotion, how our current view of it is unhelpful, and how we can shift our perspective on anxiety so that we can better use it as the advantage it evolved to be. Tracy draws on real-world stories as well as cutting-edge research to help us adopt a new mindset about anxiety. Future Tense is an invaluable resource for anyone looking to manage anxiety in the workplace, in school, or in the context of digital technology.

2024 BREAKFAST HOST
Tony Brar
Tony Brar is a dream chaser. He covers the Edmonton Oilers — the NHL team he grew up watching. He’s currently in his sixth season as the Lead Reporter and Host of Oilers TV. One of his dream jobs.
While gratitude and positivity remain consistent in his daily life, Tony is never shy to open up about his real-time struggles. He carries a foundational belief in speaking truly and sharing our stories — the real, authentic versions of them.
“It can yield the power to help others. Who knows? Maybe it can give those who see you a little strength and potentially help them build courage too,” Brar explains.
Tony remains active in his community and committed to Mental Health initiatives. Hosting 2023’s Breaking The Silence Mental Health Walk & Run in Edmonton remains one of his favourite memories.
Outside of the busy lifestyle that his dream job entails, Tony enjoys time with his family and friends more than anything else. But his balanced approach also includes reading, golfing, visiting local cafes, live events, playing video games & board games, maintaining an active lifestyle, watching movies, creating content and collecting vinyl records. “It’s a small one right now. But hey, we all start somewhere!”
