Text4Hope for Arabic Speakers

An arm of Text4Hope, Text4Amal will offer supportive messaging in Arabic. Amal means hope in Arabic.

With support from RBC Foundation, the Mental Health Foundation and the Canadian Arab Institute have collaborated to offer Text4Amal, a free supportive texting program for the Arabic community in Canada.

Text4Amal help Arabs in Canada identify and adjust negative thoughts of anxiety, stress, and depression through the use of evidence-based Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) tools.

Subscribers receive daily positive, effective messages of hope in Arabic via text messages daily.

Small measures help.

Research from Text4Hope saw overall reported rates of mental health distress drop by 22.7 per cent for anxiety, 10.4 per cent for depression and 5.7 per cent for stress at the three-month mark, even for people who initially reported moderate to severe symptoms.
