One-in-five of us suffers with mental health and addictions issues. Post-COVID, the burden will be even heavier. While demands are high and growing, resources supporting responsive and available services haven’t kept pace. The Mental Health Foundation is changing that.

We’re looking for Board of Trustee volunteers.
The Board of Trustees provides oversight and governance to the operations of the Mental Health Foundation. Aligned with our provincial mandate, we seek to reflect the scope and diversity of Alberta on our Board. Skills we’d like to add include: business acumen – particularly business development – sales, marketing and entrepreneurial ability, communications, social media and public relations; and, finance, accounting and audit experience at a governance level. Trustees participate in four, two-hour Board meetings annually (booked in advance) and special meetings; participate on a Board committee, with four, one-hour meetings annually; and attend and/or participate in events.
Please note that a competitive selection process will be used to assess Board of Trustee candidate qualifications. Recommended candidates will be presented for approval to the MHF Board, reviewed by Alberta Health Services and, with endorsement, advanced to Alberta Health for Ministerial approval.
