Ben Horcica

Board Chair

Ben is a partner with the law firm of Bryan and Company LLP. Ben practices corporate law with a focus on securities and mergers and acquisitions involving both public and private companies. He is also actively involved in various charitable organizations in the community, having been on the Board of Directors for ABC Head Start Society, the Support Network Foundation, and the University of Alberta Golden Bears and Pandas Tennis Alumni Society.

Charlene Butler


Charlene is the President and founder of Butler Business Solutions Ltd., a general management consulting company. Charlene puts her 25 years of management experience to work assisting a wide variety of businesses with strategic business planning, evaluation framework development, non-financial risk management and organizational performance optimization. She is Vice Chair of the Automobile Insurance Rate Board, a member of the U of A Senate, a member of the Rotary Club of Edmonton Glenora and an active community volunteer.

Deb Manz, MBA

As the recently retired CEO of the Alberta College and Association of Chiropractors (ACAC) Deb Manz, has a strong background in executive management and strategic leadership. Community involvement includes 11 years with the Board of the Stollery Children’s Hospital Foundation (including Chair for three years), former Board member of the Telus World of Science Edmonton, and a current member on the Boards of Habitat for Humanity Edmonton and the Mental Health Foundation. Deb is also a member of the Glenora Rotary Club.

Cody Lakevold

Cody Lakevold is the President of Holos Productivity. While in University, Cody pursued a degree in Psychology and was offered the opportunity to perform independent research on the topic of consumer buying behaviour and present his findings at one of the largest annual psychology conferences in the world, the HBES (Human Behaviour and Evolution Society) Conference.”

Jeff Strank

Jeff currently works as the Vice President Business Development with Horizon North where he focuses on managing executive relationships within key strategic client accounts.

Prior to joining Horizon North, Jeff was the co-founder of Empire Camp Equipment Ltd. (Empire), a Western Canadian focused provider of camp and wellsite buildings. At Empire, Jeff managed all day to day dealings including business development, customer relationships and operations.

Kerry Day, Q.C.

Kerry practices law with Parlee McLaws LLP. She has over 30 years experience as a business lawyer serving executives and boards of directors of private and public corporations and government entities. Kerry is very involved with the community, and has been an active member of a number of non-profit and community boards.

Gord Gilroy

Gord Gilroy was born, raised and educated in Edmonton, Alberta. He graduated from the UofA in 1985 with a degree in Business. From there he founded the company in 1987 and operates it today with three business partners and 12 employees. Vision is a nationally recognized, medium-sized marketing & advertising firm based in Edmonton. Gord is a current board member of the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation. Previous board commitments include Habitat for Humanity, the Stollery Children’s Hospital Foundation, the Art Gallery of Alberta and Northlands. Gord has been married to his wife Angie for 18 years and together they have two teen aged children - Jack and Gracie.

Nancy MacDonald, BA, RPP, MCIP

Nancy is a professional urban planner and the Edmonton Practice Leader of Stantec’s Urban Planning group. She has provided strategic input and has led multi-disciplinary teams in the planning and successful delivery of large, complex and politically charged projects.

Nancy is a member of the City Region Speaker series selection committee at the University of Alberta’s Faculty of Extension. Nancy also donates her time to the Hope Mission and to Habitat for Humanity.

Margo Schulte Long

Margo is Director of Strategic Services, and a Partner at Incite, a strategic B2B and not-for-profit focused marketing firm in Edmonton. Margo has helped numerous charity organizations with strategic marketing focus and building stronger relationships with donors and she has 10 years of experience running fundraising events. Mental Health is a passion and priority for Margo and she is honoured to be part of the board.

Cory Wosnack

Cory Wosnack, a principal with Avison Young in his 18th year with the firm, is an industry leader focusing on Edmonton’s office market. Cory has earned his reputation as one of Canada’s most active agents, consistently completing many of the industry’s most influential transactions. Cory has been a member of Avison Young’s Circle of Excellence for the past 6 consecutive years – a distinction awarded to the firm’s top performers in North America.

Josh Benko

Josh Benko is the controller for Parkwood Group of Companies. Prior to that he worked with Pennock Acheson Nielsen Devaney where he specialized on financing, taxation and due diligence for small and medium private client services and various not-for-profit organizations. He initially completed his articles with the international accounting firm, Ernst and Young, where he focused on auditing large private and publicly-traded companies. Josh currently serves as the volunteer treasurer for the Edmonton AC Milan Soccer Club.

Dr. PJ White

PJ is a psychiatrist and currently works as the Medical Director at Alberta Hospital Edmonton.

Mark Snaterse

Alberta Health Services (AHS) Representative

Mark is the Executive Director for Addiction and Mental Health in the Edmonton Zone with AHS. In this role, he provides administrative leadership over service-delivery and planning for specialized inpatient and community-based addiction and mental health services for children, adolescents, youth, adults and seniors. Prior to accepting formalized leadership roles, his clinical background was in psychiatric pharmacy practice with specialized focus on acute adult mental health, forensic psychiatry and geriatric psychiatry. He is also an Adjunct Clinical Professor with the Faculty of Pharmacy at the University of Alberta and has broad teaching experience in the Faculties of Pharmacy, Medicine, Nursing and Rehabilitation. His research interests include psychopharmacology outcomes research, interdisciplinary models-of-care and evidence-informed treatment for clients with concurrent disorders.
